Who We Are
Your
Community Advantage
Founded in 2005, the Telesis Community Non Profit Trust was created to
promote financial literacy and educational opportunities within our
community. We've created ties with local schools, charities and
organizations whose focus is on educational issues both through financial
contributions as well as encouraging volunteer commitment.
Mission
Statement
The
mission of the Telesis Community Non Profit Trust is to provide financial
education in order to supply youth and adults with the tools needed for
financial self empowerment. The long range goal of the Telesis Community
Non Profit Trust is to educate participants so that they can be catalysts for
change to produce more prosperous communities. Emphasis is on three
target areas; school age children, remedial education to adults who have either
limited financial management skills or who have experienced financial
difficulties and adults who are striving for home ownership.
Financial
Literacy - Empowerment for a better community
For
Youth
TCNPT
is committed to providing the knowledge needed for everyone to achieve success
through prudent financial management.It's a Habit® teaches
younger children the importance of savings from an early age. We use
materials from the National Endowment for Financial Education to
help shape better "future consumers" in area middle schools and high
schools.
For
Adults
Materials
from BALANCE® and a variety of accredited sources are used to
provide knowledge on a wide range of topics including basic money management,
budgeting, understanding your credit report, preventing identity theft, and
more. Counseling services are available for first time home
buyers. TCNPT has partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank, Fair Housing
Council of the San Fernando Valley and the City of San Fernando on programs to
help educate potential home buyers so that they can realize the American dream
of home ownership.
Additionally,
educational opportunities are offered to small business owners on access to
capital, SBA loan programs, cash flow management and more.
